I used to think I was a pretty normal teenager: I got up in the morning, went to school, did my homework, played videogames, and dreamed about Karen—one of the girls in my class. For a while I thought these powers were pretty amazing—I mean, who wouldn't want superpowers? But it stopped being fun when Karen started hearing a voice in her head. A voice that told her I was her enemy. A voice that could take control of her. A voice that was only the first glimpse of a world we never knew existed. 
Its kinda' hard for me to write a review for this book, Not because I did not like the story but simply because the book didn't impress me as much as I hoped for. The start is actually good, but as the story continues, I find it harder and harder to connect with its characters.

The story started with teenagers developing mysterious powers. It was a hype for me at first. Yeah, Just like some YA fiction out there and I must say, I am a Fan. Yet after the revelation that they where in fact a vessel for Angels? Nah. Not a fan of this, suddenly its too much. I can't find the right world but it just did not fit in. There was a lack of description, although that might be described in the next book because this has a short story after all, it still felt very vogue for me.

I wanted to say how Elise had  utterly BROKE my heart, take it to pieces to be whole again, and be BROKEN once again at the end. YES. This book is definitely a roller coaster of emotions for me. My toes twirl at the intense scenes. And there are some revelations that left me screaming: NOOOOO.... Well, Well, Well. The Emperor is not Vhalla's most dangerous enemy after all. I. REALLY. NEVER.EXPECTED. IT. 

What I find refreshing about this book and maybe some won't agree with me, is the way the undying love of Prince Aldrik and Vhalla had easily surpasses the pain they inflicted in each other at the end of  "Earth's End". And I must say that after hating Prince Aldrik at the end of the third book, I now find him admirable on how he was willing to risk everything just to be with Vhalla again.

I am utterly relieved and happy that the person I thought was dead was obviously not. But it really breaks my heart that someone, someone close to my heart will finally find his end.

So buckle up. Read. Enjoy. And SCREAM after you reach the end of this book. I know, just like me, you will be counting the days when Prince Aldrik finally took over the crown.

This book is a total page turner. The beginning has a crazy stuff going on up to the end. What I only noticed is how the author loved to kill some characters in every book. YES. You heard it. Someone will die in this book, it might broke your heart but, I don't killing this character will cause a huge impact on the group. Well, maybe for a specific
person but not on the overall story of this book. Still, just like the previous books, I mostly associate my feelings of how this book makes my blood in veins pumping with excitement and adrenaline. It was like watching X-men in a different kind of way. Incredible and such a bad-ass characters. Every chapter gets crazier and crazier. I actually don't know what to say.

So, In here we have three points of view: John, Six and Ella. There is no better way but to do this because of the overwhelming scenes that unfolds in every chapter. And I really commend Pitaccus for doing so. The readers will get a small glimpse of Adams past life with the Mogs. I actually adore him in some way. He was the very opposite of the what an antagonist should be. Marina, well I do not know what to think of her. I was actually trying to gauge my feelings for her if I actually hate her or not. There are some instances that I find her so weak. Ella. I really felt so sorry for what could happen to her in the conclusion of this book. But I really admire her courage to offer her own life for the good.

So now, I cannot wait for the next book. I just pray it has an epic conclusion just the way Pittacus had done it in every book of this series.

This sequel deserves a solid 5 stars. The storyline had an interesting new plot and interesting new characters that I think will be joining us until the last series of this book. There are sudden death and unexpected event, and I really cried a lot after I read this book. I never expect him to die. Not yet, not now when I was just starting to take notice of how cute his character is. And I swear I really cried with Rose with that sad scene. And I still can’t believe he was dead. *Sigh*

This sequel include Rose first Strigoi kill. And I honestly did not expect it to be that way. I was actually expecting a more badass kill. But I think given with the event, it was more than a revenge why she was able to kill Strigoi’s.

I was actually thinking about Moroi’s combining with Damphirs. Moroi’s have magic, manipulating elements that makes up a good advantage in a fight. And I was really glad that the Author have the same idea as me. I feel like all those powers are not left in to waste. I just love the idea of Moroi’s fighting for themselves and not depending with Damphirs that much. I am really excited which book will have this kind of fighting scenes wherein Morori and Damphirs are all out on war against Strigoi. And I feel so excited! Hell! I wanted to savor that moment when it happens. Hahahahha.


Compared with other Moroi, Lissa has a very rare ablility that no other Moroi has. Now, Adrian being introduced in this book makes the plot more complicated and more thrilling than ever. I was really glad, there is someone who can actually help Lissa to hone her own powers. Yiii! It just makes me more excited for the next book after this!

I was such a mess after reading this book. Elise literally shattered my heart. I just felt I was left in air and suddenly I can't breath. That is how I felt after I finish this. And I really don't know how can I possible move on with 2 months of waiting game for the 4th book. (Sad)

Anyway! You might have read my previous review for the first book, Air Awakens and the second sequel, Fire Falling which is expressed on how satisfied and appy I am with development and pacing of the characters. Well, This book had hit it AGAIN. Yes! Another success for Elise. And I am really so happy that she never fails to amaze me with her story telling. (SMILING SO WIDE)

The Plot. There are times when I question the intentions of the King. And I am really happy how the story turned out to be at this book. It really confirmed my suspicion for the King. And I was so glad that Elise bought up a new twist on the story. How can Elise save all those innocent people? And how will the story turn out on the fourth book? This are one of the few questions that I have in mind after finishing this book. Though Vhalla continues to grow stronger, there are still moments of uncertainty in Vhalla's part. Elise didn't hesitate to make some turns on the story. and it's a brave thing to do.

The Romance. This book has a lot of romance to offer. Compared to the first 2 books, this one has more confessions and moments between Vhalla and Price Aldrik. And I think I LOVE it. Although I didn't like how it turns out in the end, but still its a kind of pain wherein you will love it. Hahahahahha. No spoilers here!

What to expect in this book: Just when you thought that there is a happy ending for Vhalla and Prince Aldrik. Think twice. The ending will leave you screaming for the fourth book.

At first, I really adored this novel; creepy, thrilling, mysterious, disturbing hallucinations well what could I ask for? I was really hooked with its first 5 chapters. But then everything just started to crumble. All of the sudden the story started get dull, their are some scenes that I just felt very unnecessary, like his dad being in a case. Noah suddenly can compose music. Suddenly, the story became a love story. REALLY? That is what this all about after all?

Its bad because I really had a great expectation for this book. With all the hype and good feedbacks, I just thought I might like it too. But boy, I was totally disappointed I'm really having a hard time finishing it. Well I guess it was really not meant for me. :(
