Wow. Just Wow. This book gives me all the feels. And as usual the lines, the words of wisdom would really cut you deep specially if your a mother yourself or you are a daughter yourself who experienced this kind of heartache once in your life.
Sometimes I am still in awe of how CoHo can transition and dial in to each character's POV in such a deep way. I just admire how she can make you feel so many emotions that it feels like it was happening to you, as if all those pains are your story to tell. It was really a great read.
This book is not your typical romance story. It was a story about a mother and a daughter. It has a very typical but mostly overlooked situation of how a mother and a daughter sometimes disagree with one another. It is a story of a mother who devoted all her life to her family. What will happen when the very reason why you wake up every morning was gone? And the only child you have is starting drift out away from you. *sniffing here*
What only keeps me from giving this a perfect star is that the plot, and thel turn of events and ending was what I expected it to be. Considering the situation that CoHo had chosen, it was a little bit very easy to guess how it will end.
A mother’s love is like nothing else in the world.
It’s both strong and gentle.
Loud and quiet.
Unrelenting and yielding.
Protecting and releasing.
Demanding and unassuming.
